From flames to green, help us intervene.
Together, we can save nature's vibrant colours and combat the threat of devastating fires during the Iron Swords War.
The intense bombardment in the North poses a significant threat to both the residents and the natural environment in the region. Since October, fires have affected approximately 104,679 dunams (26,946 Acres) in the North, according to the latest data from the Nature and Parks Authority. About half of the fires occurred in nature reserves and national parks, and the rest in forests and open areas.
These current circumstances, combined with the annual threat of summer fires in open areas, have highlighted the critical need to invest in effective firefighting equipment. In the event of a wildfire in open areas, having the right equipment is crucial for the Nature and Parks Authority special forces. They are often the first on the scene, arriving by car or on foot, sometimes before the rescue forces. The necessary gear allows for an immediate response, making their quick response critical.
The Nature and Parks Authority’s inspectors, as the first responders, have a pivotal role in the state’s fire preparedness, bringing unique advantages with them:
- Thorough understanding and experience with this unique terrain.
- Proficient knowledge of fire hazards and high-risk areas in open areas and nature reservations.
- Ongoing collaboration with stakeholders in the field (local farmers, shepherds, fire and rescue services, JNF and the IDF)
- Designated fire fighting equipment that is exclusive and suitable for fires in open areas.
Our valuable experience over the last few months has made it clear that our ability to respond quickly is critical in stopping a wildfire from reaching residents houses and spreading over forests and open areas.
To ensure we can respond swiftly and effectively to fires, we need equipment for our off-road fire trucks, fire extinguishers, personal fire extinguisher carriers, and top-notch protective suits.
Acquiring this equipment will enable us to protect Israel’s unique nature and landscape and respond quickly and effectively in emergencies. It will ensure the preservation of our country’s biodiversity for generations to come.
