This initiative allows commercial enterprises to become involved in improving Israel’s landscape and environment. The hope is that an “in-house site” will be created to which the company will feel connected and committed, and it will become its focus for a social and environmental impact and for volunteer work. For the first time, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, in cooperation with the Israel Nature and Heritage Foundation, is calling on commercial enterprises to show environmental corporate responsibility, as in other countries, making it possible for every company to find the reserve or national park that is a perfect fit for its needs and goals.
How to choose a site
A company can adopt a site that is close to its location or to the values of the company and the particular focus of the enterprise.
What does adopting a site include?
Adopt-a-site is a whole package of promotion, funding and involvement in carrying out projects in nature reserves or national parks. The work includes installing signage and equipment for the benefit of visitors, building trails, building outdoor classrooms, volunteer work by employees that suits their abilities and preferences, activities and guided tours for families, visits by the company’s guests at the adopted site and cooperation in marketing and image activities.
Adopting a site creates a conceptual change in terms both of corporate social responsibility and increased awareness by employees of their immediate surroundings. It also strengthens the bond between employees as well as to nature. The company’s commitment to nature differentiates it from other companies and gives it an advantage.
Adopt-a-site is a “power multiplier” for company branding.
The results of the company’s efforts at a site can be clearly seen. This gives employees a feeling of satisfaction and magnifies their positive experience.
